Peel Technical are working alongside a leading telecoms company to help in their search for a new HSQE manager
The Role
To comply with current Health and Safety legislation approved codes of practice and guidance in relation to employment and service provision.
To work proactively with managers to establish and maintain a system that promotes a culture of safe working practices across the organisation.
To provide direct management and leadership of the Health and Safety Department.
To include, but not restricted to, the following duties:
- To monitor, evaluate and review Health and Safety policy and practice, make recommendations, and implement new policies and procedures as required
- To assist in the identification of training needs for employees and develop and deliver training as required including company training matrix.
- To support all managers to maintain safe systems, providing specialist advice, coaching, all required PPE, and practical support for all field work.
- To assist managers, implement health and safety systems and procedures to meet specific requirements, such as accident reporting and dealing with hazardous substance in a consistent and effective manner for all field and internal staff.
- To carry out audits to evaluate the effectiveness of Health and Safety systems, procedures, and identify and implement improvements.
- Liaise with the Transport Manager to manage issues relating to waste disposal, buildings, fire safety equipment, electrical testing, and safety audit non-compliances.
- Coordinate and management H&S with regards to Sub Contractors.
Experience:
Interest in current health and safety legislation and issues, with experience of health and safety implementation in the workplace, for example, carrying risk assessments. Experience in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Experience of Mobile Telecoms Network preferred but not essential
Knowledge of CDM, fire and asbestos regulations.
Evidence of continued professional and personal development.
Qualifications
Good general standard of education with spoken and written English.
Evidence of training in occupational safety and health or Certification from a recognised body (NEBOSH, BSC, IOSH; ROSPA; C&G; etc) is preferred.
